The Alliance for Regional Cooperation (ARC) is a nonprofit whose mission is to build a more robust regional economy—enhancing local connections, including rural-urban linkages, across artificial historical boundaries between Maryland, Washington, DC and Virginia. ARC’s initial plans include building an alliance of cooperatives and offering a discount purchasing program for locally owned businesses in the region.
National Justice for Our Neighbors (NJFON) supports a hospitality ministry that welcomes immigrants by providing affordable, high-quality immigration legal services to low-income immigrants, engaging in advocacy for immigrant rights, and offering education to communities of faith and the public. NJFON oversees the Justice for Our Neighbors (JFON) network, which is a national alliance of 19 independently operated organizations that collectively serve over 4,000 low-income immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers each year.
Ashoka Changemakers activates a global network of social entrepreneurs, innovators, business leaders, policy makers, and activists to build an Everyone A Changemaker movement. To build this movement, Changemakers searches, selects and supports entrepreneurs, delivers groundbreaking analysis about seemingly intractable problems and social innovation solutions, and creates strong partnerships. Within Changemakers, a global Network Activation Team was established to build on the achievements of Changemaker Challenges and other engagements as well as maintain relationships with entrants and network partners, which are critical for developing a supportive ecosystem for the Everyone A Changemaker movement.
B Local: Mid-Atlantic Region is a community of Certified B Corporations that foster and deepen connections among organizations in the region (Delaware, Maryland, Washington, DC and Northern Virginia) that have a shared purpose and passion for using business as a force for good. B Corporations are a type of company that use the power of business to solve social and environmental problems. Since its formation in May 2015, B Local: Mid-Atlantic Region has hosted gatherings to raise awareness about the B Corporation movement and foster connections between B Corporations and other organizations advancing social, economic and environmental impact.
